The Path to Finding Mr Right

OK, there's got to be someting wrong with my life if getting my monthly Acmamall books from the delivery man is the most exciting thing that happens to me. (Maybe I should check if he's single....=P)

I still remember briefly scanning through my Multiply network and reading Michelle's friend's comments (Jane?) about how the first thing anyone asks her is if she's attached. I get that alot...with my relatives, when I go visiting. There's just something about being single (and available) that seems to stick in the older generations craw...especially after you've reached a certain age and all other cousins, friends, brothers, sisters (tho my bro is divorced and my sis in the same state of spinsterhood that I am) are married and having kids.

I once had this conversation with my sister. Is there something wrong with us? Are we like super ugly, have disgusting habits, emit 'STAY FAR AWAY FROM US' pheromones? If any of you have met my sis, you know she's attractive, has a great personality and the most patient and sweetest of souls (of course that also means she has a higher standard of requirement for her future partner). Heck with her around, who would look at me? (Nobody believes we are related anyway...only my parents .

Either that or there's a derth of males with sufficient grey matter to notice.(Ah..I guess this is one reason guys stay away - caustic humour). Anyways, the point of this whole verbal diarrhoea (heck could never spell it correct) is to introduce eHARMONY (online matchmaking/dating to neophytes like me). For girls(in the gender not age sense) like me, where my line of work doesn't throw me at hordes of guys (I wish), it's probably one of the more feasable options to meeting someone new.

My sis and I are both using it to get to know more people (potential soulmates/partners, whatyoumaycallit) and of course you have to pay. She introduced it to me. Then spread it to someone else and here I am spreading it to you. Meeting the right guy/girl is about taking some risks, making the decision to be serious about looking. I don't want to wait till I'm 40 to start....and for those who really don't want to sit on their bums waiting for God to throw a guy in your lap...

Passing Time

I was super busy on Friday, clearing my four pupils in order to make my Sat free! -_-U

I was so tired after all that running about...but I don't regret it! . I got to go for my La Roche Pose Skin talk and get my goody bag! Arrff! Yay! It was a bottle of the whitening cream, which I then promptly passed to my mum since she is using the stuff. Ha! I finally bought a book on how to make miniatures, and you can see the results in my Gallery!

It's not perfect, and not even close to the standard of artistry I see out there on the net, but it's a start and I am quite pleased with the results. There'll be more coming, if only I knew where the heck to get craft resin!!! I've been using PVA glue to give my stuff the nice glossy effect, but it doesn't compare to actual resin for transparency. Gonna check the modelling shop next. Cackle! Oh and Please COMMENT ON THE PICS! I really appreciate any FB.

Frustrations of a Tutor

I had three students to tutor today and I was pissed, to say the least.

Pissed that they refused to do the work I gave them, giving me the excuse that they had no time. Angry, because after numerous times and chances, they still refused to change their ways. I was truly close to blowing my top.

Ah well, kids will be kids....

A Quiet National Day

It was a really quiet and uneventful National Day Celebration for most of my family and myself. My sis went out with her friend for a bout of tea and shopping while I stayed home with my two monkeys (nephew and neice) and my mom and the maid.

While the kids were either watching the TV, playing the PS2 or basically wacking each other silly, I had a really nice and quiet time in my room, reading with the air con on! Ahhhhhh...the ultimate luxury (peace and quiet time ).

I had tuition in the morning and actually had plans to have a picnic somewhere we could see the fire works for the parade but with my sis (and the car) unavailable it was more comfortable to just stay home and bum .

Doing your own publishing

I recently read in the ST about people who cut their own albums and publish their own books. As close friends know, I am currently writing so anything to do with self publishing is good news to me. Hehehe, my stories are coming along, but very slowly. Since I am not the type to write short stories, expect these to be epic novels of sorts (epic in trying to write them).

Still haven't gotten around to putting up the pics in my photo albums, sorry about that. With six pupils to tutor, any free time I get, I am either writing or reading. And now I have to spend some time doing research in the library for my books....Ahhh welll
